The Agronomy & Grain Operations Technician plays a dual role in supporting daily grain elevator operations and agricultural crop input services. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and shipping grain and applying agronomy products (fertilizer, seed, and crop protection chemicals). The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on mechanical work, working outdoors, and delivering quality service to local agricultural producers.

Grain Handling Operations

• Operate dump pits, grain legs, conveyors, dryers, and grain storage systems safely and efficiently.

• Monitor grain inventory quality, temperature, and condition across storage structures.

Agronomy Operations

• Load, unload, and transport agronomy supplies, seed products, and bulk equipment.

• Deliver products to customer locations and assist with field applications or equipment tenders as needed.

• Maintain accurate inventory logs and safety compliance records for bulk chemicals and fertilizer storage.

Facility Maintenance & Safety

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspection, and minor repairs on elevator machinery, agronomy equipment, and tender trucks.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across grain pits, storage units, work areas, and application equipment.

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required; prior experience in agriculture, grain handling, or mechanical maintenance strongly preferred.

• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License required. CDL (Class A or B) and Commercial Pesticide Applicator License preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

• Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency for scale systems and inventory software; mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot basic machinery.

• Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb grain ladders/bins, work at heights, and endure prolonged standing in outdoor weather conditions.

• Flexibility: Willingness to work extended hours and weekends during peak seasonal periods (spring planting and fall harvest).
